6-ATMOSPHERE MANUAL UNDERWATER MASSAGE

Ì
GENERAL PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION

Manual underwater massage is one of the most efficient types of hydromassage; it comprises exposure to an intensive water stream under pressure of 1,5 to 6 atmospheres followed by massage therapist’s manipulations. This technique combines manual massage with the thermal hydrotherapeutic procedure.

TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION

Manual underwater massage is a hydrotherapeutic complex for health recovery, cellulite reduction, body contour correction, skin tonification and firmness restoration by means of water streams.
The procedure includes patient’s submersion into a bathtub full of water; then our specialist directs a water flow, which is pumped through a hose under pressure. In such a way, our massage therapist, keeping a hose under water, thoroughly stimulates the body problem areas.

TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGES

The main advantage of manual underwater massage lies in the fact that the organism is simultaneously exposed to the influence of a few factors: a mechanical one, null-gravity condition and thermal effect.
Null-gravity condition caused by immersion into water helps to relieve stress of each muscle group, which improves significantly the massage effect.
The procedure provides treatment due to the stimulation of the secretory reaction of thyroid gland, adrenal glands and reproductive glands.

PROCEDURE STEP DESCRIPTION

Before the procedure, our specialist collects detailed information about patient’s health and selects a massage type, which is more suitable for the patient. Next step – the procedure itself. First, the patient gets into the warm bath and relaxes during 5 to 10 minutes. As an option, marine salt or essential oils can be added to water. Then the specialist starts treating all the body problem areas with the use of a high-pressure directed water flow. Massage is given in circular motions, in a clockwise manner. Massage is started so that the distance between the hose end and patient’s body is not less than 15 cm; this distance is then reduced to increase the stimulation of the problem areas.
Massage with water flow involves both thermal and mechanical stimulation. The intensity of underwater massage is regulated by means of drawing the hose closer to the body or removing it, by means of increasing or reducing the slope of the hose tip with the massaged body area as well as by means of changing the procedure duration or water temperature. Optimum pressure for back massage is 2 to 5 atmospheres, for thigh massage – 3 to 6 atmospheres. After the manual underwater massage procedure, the patient stays in water within 5 minutes to give body a rest.
Average procedure duration is 30 to 60 minutes.
Required procedure course – 10 to 15 sessions twice a year.
